Try A Corner Bathroom Vanity

Submitted by: Heather Mitchell

Unfortunately, many people these days live in small houses and apartments which do not have a lot to offer in terms of walking space. This is actually even worse when it comes to the bathroom as most people are limited to a very tiny area of space. As you can imagine, this tends to cause some problems in terms of storage as well as walking space, considering that installing a regular vanity or even a traditional storage cabinet is simply out of the question. Fortunately though, furniture makers are not exactly oblivious to the problem as they have come up with the perfect solution to solve the space problem: the use of a corner bathroom vanity.

How exactly is a corner bathroom vanity supposed to help you in this case? Well, to start things off it is safe to say that you are already saving yourself a decent amount of space by having it installed in the corner rather than against the wall as is usually the case with a small bathroom vanity. While it may at times feel somewhat impractical, keep in mind that it is the way to have more space.

Second of all, a corner bathroom vanity generally consists of a mirror and either a cabinet or some storage drawers. This means it is going to serve both as your grooming mirror and your bathroom storage unit, a feature which allows you to save a ton of space by ridding you from the need of purchasing a vanity mirror and a cabinet separately.

If saving space is really your main concern and you are worried about little else, then you will be glad to know that there are many corner bathroom vanity models which are built tall and thin, using up some of your vertical space which you most certainly do not walk around on.

How exactly should you go about choosing the best corner bathroom vanity possible? While it is not too much of a complicated choice to make, there are a couple of factors that you will need to take into account, the first one being the material used in the construction. When it comes to furniture the bathroom is quite a hostile environment as sudden temperature changes and moisture are very commonplace. If you are planning on getting a corner bathroom vanity made out of wood then make sure it is properly treated to withstand those types of damages, or you will have to replace it very soon as it will simply start to fall apart. Generally it is recommended to look for something made out of metal, such as steel or aluminum.

Apart from that, you should also take into account the style and the design of your choice. While it may sound silly, the bathroom is somewhat of a private, personal haven in which you can safely relax and escape the strenuous everyday annoyances. Having a piece of furniture in it which is out of sync with the rest of the d cor is going to create an unsettling feeling, which is the last thing you want in your sanctuary. And if all else fails, and you can’t find a corner vanity to suit your fancy, you may be forced to opt for a small bathroom vanity. This option will offer you less storage, but there are many more choices available with this option. So, with this, finding something that goes with your decor may be easier.

Seeking Cheaper Janitorial Supplies For House Cleaning

By Loren Yadeski

Just because they are just cleaning supplies doesn’t mean they are not luxuries. You need them in your everyday struggles with house chaos. Still, there are a lot janitorial supplies that cost more than the usual pricing. Now, here’s how to stretch your money by stretching your janitorial cleaning supplies and replace some with very low cost alternatives

–Buy hand soaps in those dispensers with soap dispensed in foamy suds. Buy a large refill bottle of hand soap which will save you money right off the bat. When the dispensers are empty, fill them only one-third of the way with the refill soap and fill the rest with water. Shake gently to mix and pump a few times to get the foam from flowing. This way, you can also save water while you don’t have it running to make lather.

–Purchase cleaning concentrates for both all-purpose cleaner and germicide concentrates. Try mixing just a half teaspoon with 16 ounces of water for basic cleaner, and use a little less concentrate for glass cleaner. The germicide is cleaner and has anti-bacterial properties. Buy good spray bottles, mix up your solutions, and label them clearly.

–Get cloth diapers for cleaning cloths as they are lint free, very cheap, and you’ll save a lot on paper towels. Just toss in the laundry when you’re done cleaning. Also use a diaper on one of those fancy mops; tuck it around the mop head and sprits with a little cleaner or plain water to give the floor a quick wipe or dusting. You have no more reasons to buy those boxes of mop cloth refills which can make you spend a lot.

–Don’t bother at all with buying fabric softeners. You will notice your towels are getting less absorbent. Since most of our clothing is cotton, which doesn’t usually get static, you can try it out. Polyester fabrics might get static but just sprits it with a bit of water and you’re ready to go cleaning.

–Generic shampoo gets your hair as clean as the brand name does. If you must have your branded name hair product and spend the money on the conditioner, some of which actually remains on your hair.

–Generic baby wipes in your car makes it easy clean up especially on your sticky hands. You can also use them to wipe down your dusty dashboard. Check the unit price and buy the cheapest you can.

–Always keep a dish towel next to the kitchen sink, and hide the paper towels under the sink. In this way, you can save a ton of paper towels if they are on the counter because everyone uses them to dry their hands without thinking twice.

There are a lot of cheaper janitorial supplies out there. Most of them are generic which are affordable yet doesn’t interfere with the cleaning quality. In this era where economic crisis is prominent, be sure to always purchase and utilize the cheaper ones as they give you the same cleaning results as those expensive ones.

Guidelines For Choosing A Dog Halloween Costume}

Submitted by: Kelly Marshall

Choosing a Halloween costume for your dog may seem simple enough, but if you have ever dressed your dog up for Halloween before then you know it is anything but simple. There are many things that you have to think about when choosing a costume. The way it looks is just one consideration and it isn’t even the most important. You actually have to put some thought into choosing a costume so you can be sure Halloween is a fun experience and does not turn into a living nightmare.

Problems with Choosing the Wrong Costume

There are many things that can go wrong if you choose the wrong costume for your dog. One major problem is that your dog’s safety could be at risk. Costumes can pose a choking hazard or cause your dog to trip and fall. You also run the risk of a horrible mess if the costume does not allow for your dog to easily go to the bathroom. Other issues you may run into include your dog refusing to wear the costume, a costume that is too restricting or issues with your dog tearing or ruining the costume before you even get out the door. To help avoid problems you will need to consider sizing, design and quality.

Sizing

When buying a costume for your dog you have to get the size right. A wrong sized costume will cause all sorts of issues. You don’t want it to be too tight or too loose. You should measure your dog carefully to figure out the right size. The package will usually include measurements so you can be sure that you will get the right size. If possible you should buy from a store where you can take your pet in. Most pet stores will allow you to take your pet in. This way you can try on the costume to ensure a perfect fit.

Design

The design or style of the costume should be considered so you will be sure it will work for your dog. You don’t want a costume that has too many pieces or accessories if your dog is not used to dressing up or if he or she is very energetic. You also may want to check the back of the costume and make sure that it will be easy for your dog to use the bathroom without soiling the costume. The design should also be something that will fit your dog well. Not all costumes work for all breeds of dogs. Consider your dog’s personality, too. Extremely feisty dogs will do best with simple costumes. If you try to go too elaborate you could end up losing pieces of the costume or having your dog tear it up.

Quality

It is never a good idea to skimp on a Halloween costume for your dog. If you have a very docile dog that is well behaved and has no trouble with being dressed up then you may be able to go for a cheaper costume. Generally, though, a dog requires something that is well made and that can stand up to running, jumping and rolling around. You don’t want the costume getting torn up or falling apart before you even take your dog out for the night.

Dressing a dog up for Halloween may have once been something only a few people did, but today it is common to see pets out trick or treating with their human friends. Dog Halloween costumes come in a range of styles and you will have fun choosing one for your dog. Just be sure that you choose carefully so you are sure to get a costume that your dog will like and that will last through the night.

Glass Block Walk in Showers on a Tile, Marble, Granite or Solid Surface Base

Glass blocks can be installed onto a solid surface tile, marble, corion, or granite base to match virtually any bathroom dimension. With the use of specialized layout cards the glass block base can be designed to fit the shape youd like. The base and tile walls are then built by a tile or general contractor. Once this is completed the glass blocks walls can be installed on top of your base. Most of the bases have a 4 to 5 inch curb although these showers can be designed without a curb so those with special needs can roll into the shower as well. The glass block walls are either installed on the job site (one by one) or in some cases can be prefabricated with a specialized system called Vinyl Stack which can save labor costs in the field and often improves the finished quality of the installation.

Preformed Glass Block Walk In Shower Systems

One preformed glass block walk in shower system measures 72 x 51 and is easy for you and your builder/remodeling/glass block installation contractor to design with because it comes in 7 different colors and pre-formed acrylic base. This system has grown over 40% the last 5 years according to Pittsburgh Corning, the manufacturer of the product. Because you walk into this shower system through a curved wall you can eliminate cleaning the bottom of a shower door ever again. The acrylic material is durable and easy to clean as well.

Other popular uses of glass blocks include windows above soaking or Jacuzzi tubs in master bathrooms, windows in garages and walk-in closets to let in light while maintaining privacy, basement windows, and above tub surrounds in childrens bathrooms. Glass block is used to increase privacy, improve security, create a modern look, and increase light transmission from room to room.
